The Birmingham Islamic Society has declared Wednesday August 11, to be the first day of Ramadan. Iftar will be served daily at the Homewood and Westside Masjid. There is no iftar at the Hoover Crescent. Salatul Isha followed by the Taraweeh will be held at 9:00 at the Hoover Crescent and Homewood Masjid and at 9:30 at the Westside Masjid.

- Zakat ul-Fitr is $10 and is due upon all Muslims, including babies, born before Fajr on the day of Eid.
- IAA's annual Fundraising Dinner will be Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover. Tickets may be purchased from the IAA Office or at the doors of both Masaajid.
- Weekend Islamic School is now open. Please register your children (Ages 5-16) at the Hoover Crescent Islamic Center.
- Brother Saleh Manhood's mother has undergone major surgery. Please make dua for her recovery.
- Many Mubaraks to Brother Ibrahim Canales and his wife who were blessed with a baby girl named Mariam.
- BIS is sponsoring an iSAT-SAT Prep course for Fall 2010. Please visit the bulletin board for more information. All proceeds will go towards Pakistan Flood relief.
