The BIS Homewood Masjid is located in the Rosedale community of Homewood, Alabama, just south of downtown Birmingham.
In response to the growing needs of the community, BIS purchased the former Shades Valley RLC property in 1995. The property served as the home of BIS as well as the full-time school it supported, the Islamic Academy of Alabama (IAA).
The facility features a three-story school building, cafeteria, enclosed courtryard, playground, and prapyer hall with room for up to 250 worshippers.
In December 2007, BIS moved its community center and administrative offices to the Hoover Crescent Islamic Center. However, the property is still home to IAA, and is actively supported by BIS. Daily prayers as well as the weekly Friday prayers at the Homewood Masjid are maintained as well.
